RIBBON CUTTING | Exhibition Grand Opening & Lecture with Greg Smoak

Come help us celebrate the launch of Crossroads in Green River and the opening of our new exhibition Crossing the Green! Join us for welcoming remarks and a lecture with University of Utah historian Greg Smoak (state scholar for Crossroads), who will discuss the tensions between ideals and realities of life in rural Utah as change – past and present – affects its communities. Refreshments follow.

This event is part of the programming for the Museum on Main Street exhibition, Crossroads: Change in Rural America, a collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution and Utah Humanities, touring in partnership with the John Wesley Powell River History Museum. Crossroads will be at John Wesley Powell River History Museum from June 29 to August 18, 2024. Hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00am-5:00pm. Exhibit is free with museum admission. Green River residents and members are always free.
