Best of History Websites is an award-winning portal that contains annotated links to over 1000 history web sites as well as links to hundreds of quality K-12 history lesson plans, history teacher guides, history activities, history games, history quizzes, and more.
Thinkfinity.org is the Verizon Foundation's free, comprehensive Web site that contains thousands of educational resources including K-12 lesson plans, online educational activities, videos and other materials to enhance teacher effectiveness and improve student achievement.

For Writers

City Arts is a grass roots organization that provides a unique and refreshing forum for the literary arts by bringing together people who are interested in presenting and/or listening to poetry, short stories, memoirs, short plays, multi-media presentations, and other literary forms.

J. Willard Marriott Library Book Arts Program champions wide-ranging explorations of the book. In a fully equipped studio, bookbinders, printers, and book artists utilize type, letterpress, photo engravings and bookbinding equipment as they combine traditional techniques with modern aesthetics and technology.

Kings English Bookshop is an independent bookstore and an official Utah Humanities Book Festival vendor, “matching books to readers since 1977.”

Now Playing Utah (ZAP) is Utah’s online guide to art and culture Weller Book Works, independent and an official Utah Humanities Book Festival vendor, “Utah’s premier full-service bookstore since 1929.”

SLCC Community Writing Center (CWC) supports, motivates and educates people of all abilities and educational backgrounds who want to use writing for practical needs, civic engagement and personal expression. An open space available for writing, the CWC has a variety of workshops and programs that you can access.

Utah Division of Arts & Museums supports the literary arts in Utah through the Utah Original Writing Competition, which began in 1958, and through other offerings, including readings, conferences and workshops, as well as providing a series of professional development seminars for writers.

The Utah State Poetry Society nurtures those with a desire to write poetry. With six chapters throughout Utah, the Society’s annual Book Concert in October is a part of the Center for the Book’s Utah Humanities Book Festival.

Writers @ Work is a nationally-known independent writer’s organization… “mentoring writers, minting authors.” Offers an annual conference and other workshops for emerging and established writers.

The League of Utah Writers is a non-profit organization dedicated to offering friendship, education, and encouragement to the writers of Utah. New members are always welcome.
