Utah Poetry Festival 2024: Great Salt Lake Poetics

Apr 20, 2024, 10:00 pm

The Great Salt Lake, providing habitat for millions of birds, brine shrimp, and other species that live on or near its shores, is the largest saltwater lake in the Western Hemisphere and a defining feature of our landscape in Utah. With all its importance and surreal beauty, the lake is shrinking. In this panel we’ll have a conversation about writing about the lake, both as poetic inspiration and in giving it a voice, as the ecological crisis around the lake looms. Panelists Joel Long, Patrick Ramsay, and Nan Seymour, moderated by Laura Stott.
