Stay Salty Storytelling Workshop: Crafting Your Great Salt Lake Story

Jul 25, 2024, 6:00 pm

What’s your Great Salt Lake story? Join us on Thursday, July 25 for a storytelling workshop to explore your relationship with Great Salt Lake

We’ll gather at 6 pm at the Day-Riverside Library Branch along the Jordan River — one of GSL’s major tributaries. The event is free and open to the public, but RSVP is required at bit.ly/staysaltystoryworkshop.

As the Great Salt Lake Basin experiences record-breaking heat and continuous environmental challenges, the power of storytelling emerges as a vital tool for inspiring collective action and fostering a deeper connection to Great Salt Lake. For the past year, we’ve been interviewing people across the valley about their relationship to Great Salt Lake. Now, we’re creating space for more people to explore their GSL story. Our amazing facilitators Ashley Finley and Katherine Quaid will help you craft your own personal story about why the lake is meaningful to you and pathways to stay in the face of ecological collapse. After the workshop, you’ll be invited to share the story you craft with the Stay Salty team in the coming months!

Please join us for this workshop which will offer space for participants to think deeply about their relationship to the inland sea and the surrounding ecosystems and communities we call home.
