LECTURE | Survival in a Harsh Environment: Adaptation and Resilience of Prehistoric People in Southwestern Utah

Mar 7, 2024, 7:00 pm

Archaeologist Diana Hawks will illustrate how prehistoric people adapted and thrived in the deserts, mountains and rugged canyonlands of southwestern Utah. Paleoindians, Ancestral Puebloans, Paiutes, and others survived for thousands of years and their living descendants are still here. What can we learn from them?

This event accompanies the Museum on Main Street exhibition, Crossroads: Change in Rural America, a collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution and Utah Humanities, touring in partnership with the Silver Reef Museum.
