CGTF Dramaturgical Workshop

Sep 14, 2021, 9:30 am

While we're all familiar with the story of the fall of Troy, Euripides offers us an ancient twist on the tale in which the famous Helen, whose beauty launched a thousand ships, never, in fact, left for Troy. The meddling Gods instead whisked her away to Egypt while a false Helen incurred the wrath of two nations, her family, and husband, leaving the true Helen to pick up the pieces of her tattered reputation and marriage.

Join CGTF for a pre-show dramaturgical workshop hosted by Dr. Alicia Cunningham-Bryant where audiences will have the opportunity to learn about classical Greek theatre conventions and the historical context of the text and action of the play. The workshop will be featured at all performances including touring performances at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center and University of Utah.
