This exhibit tells the story of water on the Transcontinental Railroad, including how water reached men and engines, plus how engineers conquered the obstacles of rivers and snow as they built the Iron Road through an arid landscape.
This event accompanies H2O Today, a traveling Smithsonian exhibition touring Utah in partnership with Utah Humanities and the Bear River Heritage Area. The tour is part of Think Water Utah, a statewide collaboration and conversation on the critical topic of water presented by Utah Humanities and its partners.
