Emily has been lucky to live in all corners of the country but is especially fortunate to have found home in the shadow of the Wasatch. She holds an MA in Environmental Arts and Humanities from Oregon State University and a BA in English from Plymouth State University.

Emily came to Utah from the storied hills of New Hampshire's White Mountains where she worked for the nation's oldest conservation non-profit the Appalachian Mountain Club, helping visitors build connections with wild spaces. Over the years, she has also had the immense honor of working as part of a small and joyful team at the Spring Creek Project for Ideas, Nature, and the Written Word, dreaming up, organizing, and executing humanities-centered programming that inspires community members to cultivate just relationships with the planet and with each other. When she's not coordinating program efforts for the Utah Humanities, she is writing or wandering (or both) in the hills, valleys, and canyons of her newfound home.
