Dean enjoys finding spaces where education and community engagement collide into social impact and transformative learning. He serves as executive director of the Lowell Bennion Community Center for Community Engagement at the University of Utah. Dean's teaching and scholarship focus on civic leadership, inclusive dialogue, and community engagement. He earned his doctoral and master's degrees from the University of Montana and his baccalaureate degree from Colorado State University. He seeks to find answers to persistent questions by running and hiking in the mountains and engaging in meaningful dialogue with others. Dean and his wife Amy relish following the adventures of their five children as each works to make the world a more beautiful place. (Term 1 ends 2026)
