Introduction to Oral History Workshop

Aug 12, 2016, 1:00 pm

Interested in oral history? This workshop is a great place to begin! Join us in Cedar City on Friday, August 12th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm for a free half-day workshop.

Oral History is a powerful tool to understand your family stories and community history. This workshop will provide a focused introduction to the art and craft of oral history: to the philosophical underpinnings of the discipline—what it can, and cannot, tell us about the past—and to the nuts and bolts of executing successful oral history projects. In addition, find out about funding available to support your project. Oral History workshops are presented jointly by Utah Humanities and the Utah Division of State History.

This half-day workshop is free but registration is requested. RSVP by contacting Megan van Frank at Utah Humanities at vanfrank@utahhumanities.org or 801.359.9670.
