Rants from the Hill: Michael Branch
Sep 8, 2017, 1:30 pm
Dr. Michael Branch, a writer and professor of literature and environment at the University of Nevada, Reno, will lead a discussion on topics from his recent book, Rants from the Hill (2017), a compilation of essays that examine the complex dynamics of managing economic development, recreational use, and preservation of public lands in the Great Basin and Colorado River regions. Drawing on scientific, literary, and historical methods, while also incorporating humor and personal narrative, Dr. Branch will create an inviting framework for fostering a productive community conversation about land use, preservation, and management, which can often become contentious issues in our state.
