Tradition and Innovation: Working Together in Hyrum
Mar 25–May 13, 2017, 10:00 am
"Tradition and Innovation: Working Together in Hyrum" illustrates many components of traditional and innovative work in Hyrum throughout the area’s history, particularly the effect the growth of the E.A. Miller Company (now JBS Hyrum Blue Ribbon Beef) has had on the community. Also at the museum are three other exhibits relating to work themes: "Work Worth Doing" (focusing on the work of present-day community members), "It's not JUST Rocket Science" (about a northern Utah company that evolved into a major supplier of rocket motors and boosters), and “Volunteers Work for the Community” (about the Lions Club, Jaycees, and Hyrum Saddle Club).
These exhibits all accompany the Smithsonian The Way We Worked exhibition, stopping in Hyrum from March 25 to May 13, 2017 at the Hyrum City Museum. For more information, contact the Museum on 435.245.0208 or visit their website at hyrumcitymuseum.org/
The Way We Worked, an exhibition created by the National Archives, is part of Museum on Main Street, a collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution and Utah Humanities, touring in partnership with the Hyrum City Museum. For more information, see www.utahhumanities.org
