. Essayist and memoirist Jennifer Sinor joins poet and essayist Michael Sowder for the City Art series.
Jennifer Sinor's books include the essay collection, Letters Like the Day: On Reading Georgia O’Keeffe, as well as the memoir, Ordinary Trauma. She is also the author of The Extraordinary Work of Ordinary Writing: Annie Ray’s Diary. Called by David Bottoms, “one of our finest spiritual poets,” Michael Sowder, poet and essayist, writes about wilderness, fatherhood, yoga, and spirituality. He is a professor of English and an afilliated professor of religious studies at Utah State University. A long-time meditation teacher and student of the world’s contemplative traditions, Michael Sowder is the founder of the Amrita Yoga Satsang, a nonprofit organization dedicated to exploring and teaching the contemplative practices of yoga and other wisdom traditions. Amrita Yoga offers a weekly yoga and meditation evening and also teaches meditation and creative writing at retreats, and in schools and jails and prisons.
