Utah Humanities is the home of the Utah Center for the Book. As the state affiliate of the National Center for the Book at the Library of Congress, the Center for the Book promotes public interest in books, reading, authorship and libraries throughout the state of Utah.

You and/or your organization can participate in the Center through the following programs:

  • Utah Book Award: Acknowledging the best books published in the Beehive State each year
  • Utah Humanities Book Festival: Statewide celebration during National Book Month (October)
  • Monthly Programming: The Center for the Book collaborates with libraries, schools, and community organizations around the state to host all kinds of literary programming. From authors and editors, to book artists and illustrators, we want to examine books and publishing from all angles.

If your organization is planning a literary event and would like to partner with the Center for the Book, please contact Michael McLane at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or 801.359.9670 x104.
